Welcome to our world

Strasbourg ("Petite France"), 120° p...Image by Francois Schnell via Flickr

This is about a special area in France. Tucked away, just north of Strasbourg,
close to Wissembourg, on the French German border, is a small village called Lembach. Just a handful of kilometers away, is an even smaller village, well a hamlet really, called Pfaffenbronn.

We have lived here for some 30 years
now, a small piece of land we see as paradise. We came here, from The Netherlands and started a small holiday village with self contained homes for rent or for purchase. Over the years, we have laughed, heard stories, met fascinating people and discovered a unique part of France, off the beaten track, but close enough for many adventures and activities.

In our blog, we aim to share with you the stories, what goes on here, people we meet and what they have to say. We share with you the festivals, the wines, the harvests, the fun, the beauty and the enormously fascinating history which has moulded and shaped this region.

We hope you will enjoy what we have to say - and maybe be enticed to come and see for yourself.

  1. I think I've been in or near Lembach. Isn't Fort Schoenenbourg near Lembach?

  2. That's right, it's part of the Maginot Line.
